Acquisition

Defeat the blood-using knight at the top of Fort Haight in eastern Limgrave. Apply to a compatible sword. Uchigatana is an early practical candidate; fixed Somber weapons cannot take it.

Affinity and skill do different jobs

Selecting Blood affinity adds or changes bleed buildup on an eligible weapon. The skill’s red slash is not a reason to assume every hit automatically procs hemorrhage. Its HP cost becomes risky when you are already close to death.

Use normal attacks to learn the enemy first. Dragonblood Duelist can start with a Blood weapon, then move to an Occult innate-bleed katana after Nokron. Against a bleed-immune boss, prioritize direct damage and another talisman over proc-dependent bonuses.
