Acquisition
Confessor and Prophet begin with a Finger Seal. Other classes can buy it from the Twin Maiden Husks at Roundtable Hold. It uses normal Smithing Stones, so plan resources if your sword also needs the same stones.
A practical baseline
Meet both the seal’s requirements and the spell’s separate Faith or Arcane requirements. Upgrade the seal to improve scaling for supported damage and healing spells. Golden Vow’s fixed buff is not made stronger by upgrading a seal.
High-Faith characters can compare other seals later. This archive uses Finger Seal as an accessible baseline and does not claim it leads every scaling chart. Sacred seals cannot take an Ash of War.
