Do not give damage back
Malenia heals when her attacks connect, including successful hits into a blocking shield. Blocking can save a life, but passive shield play can lengthen the fight. Use short openings and return to a position where you can react.
Bring a rot cure or an eligible cleansing spell for the second phase. Bleed and fire are useful options, but neither guarantees a stagger on every hit. Taker’s Flames should not be treated as its older knockdown version.
Waterfowl is a distance problem
Her rise into the air is the cue to stop attacking. With distance already available, sprint away from the first flurry, then dodge the later approaches as they close in. Do not begin a long skill as she rises.
At point-blank range, the sprint-away plan may not create enough separation. Close-range evasions demand a different practiced response; this guide does not promise a universal one-button solution. Keep shorter attack commitments so you can recognize the cue earlier.
Second phase
Scarlet Aeonia begins with a dive and bloom. Avoid the dive, create space from the bloom, and wait until the damaging area permits a safe punish. Ranged attacks can use the recovery from outside the hazard.
Her added aerial and phantom sequences still demand patience. If the run fails because every punish becomes a trade, reduce to one attack and learn the next move before chasing more damage. Spirit Ash support is optional; it changes aggro and can also provide targets for her healing.
