Preparation changes the fight
Use the Purifying Crystal Tear dropped by Eleonora at the Second Church of Marika in your Flask of Wondrous Physick. Drink before the phase transition ritual. It greatly reduces ritual damage but does not stop Mohg’s healing.
Mohg’s Shackle, found in the Subterranean Shunning-Grounds, can restrain him during the first phase. The tear and shackle have different jobs. Bring fire protection and enough healing; the tear does not protect you from every bloodflame attack.
First phase
Wait through his delayed trident attacks and punish the final swing. Bloodflame placement makes backing up in a straight line a poor habit. Move toward clear ground and keep a view of his weapon.
His counting marks lead to the ritual. Prepare your Physick before the transition; without the tear, healing can compensate, but costs charges you may need later. Do not assume ordinary rolling avoids the ritual.
Second phase
His airborne approaches and bloodflame trails make arena space a resource. Dodge the approach, leave the burning ground, then attack. Standing still to channel a breath or cast a slow sword skill is especially risky here.
Mohg, Lord of Blood is the required Mohg for Shadow of the Erdtree entry. Defeating Mohg, the Omen in the capital sewers does not satisfy that requirement. You also need Starscourge Radahn.
